Brandon Kavanaugh

TTRPG Director, Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D

Since 2015, I have been weaving epic tales and challenging adventurers in D&D 5e. As a world-builder, I have spent over eight years refining a singular, expansive setting through multiple long-term campaigns. My DMing style focuses on high-stakes storytelling and intricate world-building; offering players a chance to live in, and leave a permanent mark on, a universe that has been growing and changing for nearly a decade.

Ethan Lybbert

Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D

My journey with D&D began in 2019 while I was in college. From the moment I rolled my first character, a barbarian, I knew this was a game I would want to play the rest of my life. Since then I have amassed almost every D&D 2014 book there is, and with each book my love for the game grew. I have played in many games but have spent most of my time as a Dungeon Master, running homebrew worlds using D&D lore. I consider myself a very versatile DM, with both willingness and ability to change the style of the game and my rulings to fit what works with the table.

I believe everyone can play table-top roleplaying games like D&D, because if you have ever told a story, you're halfway to playing. It's a game that can bring people together to work on something incredible, to have funny and silly moments, and to have scary or serious ones. There isn't a wrong way to play, and I hope more people join the community and continue to build it towards greatness.

Aubrey

Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D, Daggerheart

As a fantasy nerd, I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about 15 years. I began my journey as a Dungeon Master around 6 years ago. I like to use the skills I acquired during my Master's of English studies to create engaging storyline that anyone can jump into at any point. This allows me to create a series of linked one shots that players can enter and leave at any point with low stakes obligations. These single session options with no need for long term commitment focus on teamwork and collaboration to continue to improve on the stories being told. Certain events, characters, and actions have been referenced as Easter Eggs for returning players as well, creating a sense of both community and individual impact. While most of my experience is with Dungeons and Dragons 5e, I also have a growing love for Daggerheart.

Raegan

Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D

Hello, my name is Rae! I have been DMing Dungeons & Dragons (2014 Edition) since 2017 and a writer for longer than that. My goal when DMing is to have fun and nurture fun, so "rule of cool" is something I follow very closely. While I don't excel in world-building, I make up for it with exceptional and memorable NPCs and interactions. Over the years, I've ran quite a few short-term campaigns and many one-shots. And I work closely with my players to ensure their characters have a good foundation to tie them into the world, and that each of them will leave a mark on the overarching story.

My DMing style is 90% theatre of the mind, with maybe a shoddy hand-drawn map here or there. But I make up for it with prose that paints a picture. It's exploratory, adaptable, and meant for lower-stakes with meaningful player interaction. Not saying you won't end up fighting an archfiend, but it's the journey that brings you there, not the confrontation itself, right?

Dominic

Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D

I have been a Dungeons and Dragon Player for almost  20 years now, having started to play back in high school. For the last nine years I have been solely a Game master, using my writing skills to craft vast worlds and events. The way I choose to run full campaigns is to build the world and events within, but let the players make the stories. As a game master/ dungeon master, I take the role of storyteller. Letting my players use the open world I created to craft the story itself. The themes I usually use in my campaigns usually revolve around dark settings, horror fantasy and moments that attempt to send chills up the spine.

I have run games that lasted months as well as ones that lasted years, taking the time to give every player their own ark and backstory, giving them the time they need in the spotlight to further build the lore of the world. I don't want my players to just play the game, but enjoy the story and feel like they are a part of the world that we build together at the table.

Although my main focus in games is in Dungeons and Dragons, I am also versed in running through systems such as Call of Cthulhu, Daggerhart, Delta Green, and Big Eye Small Mouth.

Robin

Dungeon Master

Game Systems: D&D

Hello there! My name’s Robin and I am one of the many talented Dungeon/Game Masters here at Nexus Entertainment. With several years of Dungeons and Dragons experience under my belt of Hill Giant Strength, I am a firm believer that interactive table top story telling is one of the most powerful and fun-filled experiences in the world. Throughout the years, I’ve even adapted multiple 2-3 year long campaigns set in some of my favorite story mediums to the table: Fallout, Skyrim, Star Wars, and Red Dead Redemption just to name a few! My focus with every one shot and campaign is creating powerful story moments, highlighting everyone at the table, running engaging combat encounters, and immersing players into worlds both familiar and new.

Whether you’re a beginner, casual, or a grizzled veteran of Dungeons and Dragons, I welcome any and all who are looking to dive into the TTRPG space with open arms!

Painting Ambassadors

Quentin Mazzaferro

Miniature Painting Instructor

Quentin has been painting tiny things for the past few years. The hobby began with nail art, but after a gel allergy got in the way around the same time as he started playing D&D, he found that painting miniatures used many of the same skills and materials. Now, Quentin enjoys building and painting Warhammer and D&D figures and using them in his long-running campaign. The most exciting part to Quentin is trying out new tools and materials to get different visual effects.

Quentin is local to the Phoenix area, but grew up in New England and also spent some time in Alaska. Outside of this hobby, Quentin works in public health, enjoys actual play shows, and spoils his four pets.
